I know my wife is always on this blog saying you guys give her so much and I know you do. She gets to vent to you, gets advice and has made sooo many good friends. But behind the scenes she is a machine of a woman. Aside from spoiling the kids and I with more love than I can ever explain, she makes us amazing meals (not cause she has too, cause she wants to) keeps the house spotless and somehow fills our weekends with adventures, all while remembering every birthday party we have to attend! (Somehow presents are also magically bought and wrapped) So here she is tonight, passed out at 8:30pm. Why? Cause she is working so hard to run a free event for mums (even though so many people told her she could charge and make money off it). The thing is, to be able to fit as many people in as possible she had to keeps costs down, so she is doing so much stuff that you’d usually get contractors to help with. Then, instead of accepting gifts from brands to do ‘insta unboxing’s’ she pesters them to give her thousands of dollars in products to use as giveaways for her followers. Sometimes I say ‘babe, just take the free gift’ but she gives me death eyes and swiftly replies ‘we don’t need it, so many more people are worse off’. This is my wife! She puts everyone first. She is the best human I know and the world is a better place because she is in it. So no inspiring or clever post or helpful tip tonight, instead I’m carrying her to bed and she’s taking a break. Night all!

Today on stories, I asked you guys what I should cook for dinner and showed a HelloFresh meal from start to finish, with just 6 easy steps. And just 30 mins! As a busy mum, it has been a game changer for us. I used to get stuck in a rut of buying the same dinners every week and wasting time going to the supermarket but HelloFresh inspires me with new recipes, delivered fresh to my door step. But most of all I don’t have to think every night what we are going to have for dinner and the kids love it! Feel free to ask any questions if you have not tried the service yet and you can use the code REALMUMMA40 to get 40% off your first box to try it. And you are welcome to share the code with your family and friends. We get the family box each week which suits our lifestyle perfectly. .

What an amazing response, thank you to all of you who signed up. The @oricombabycare TOGETHER event reached its capacity of 250 people in just 3 minutes last night and over 250 people have also signed up for the wait list. 😲 I have had so many messages from people who missed out and I truely wish I could have everyone attend. It was really important to me to keep this event free while still making sure you got lots of yummy food, a welcome drink and fun entertainment whilst you got to mingle with other like minded mums, but all those things cost money, so for that reason, along with our venue capacity I had to cap it at 250 people.
I promise to try to continue to give back to this wonderful instagram community, whether it’s sharing a simple recipe, having lots of giveaways, sharing the highs and lows or running as many free mum nights out as I possibly can. Thank you all for your support. Adele X 😙

The count down is on! This Monday, 24th June at 8pm registrations open for the free TOGETHER event so set your alarms and be ready. As it is a free event, spaces are limited to 250 people and registrations are required. I urge you to only register and take a spot if you are 100% able to come. So tag you mum mates and plan who is coming :)
.
The first drink is on us, followed by a night of gourmet canapés at the my favourite Asian restaurant and venue space, Red Spice Road and over $2000 of giveaways and a couple of surprises! But most of all, an opportunity to have a night off, mingle with other mums and not have to put your hand in your pocket.
.
Together with @oricombabycare , who completely backed me when I came to them with the idea of a FREE event for mums, we are so excited to come TOGETHER with you all. .
Check out the flyer on where to register and feel free to share with your Mum groups x

So, turns out that I need glasses but that was no surprise. What did surprise us was to learn that Harvey is red/green colour blind! Paul and I sat dumb founded as we watched our little boy unable to see a square that we could clearly see, on every single page. And then we went on to learn about what he actually sees with this condition. There goes your wish to be a pilot little one! Turns out it’s actually very common, effecting 1 in 8 boys and I something he inherited from my dad! But I would never have known this without going to an optometrist for a full eye assement. In addition to the maternal screening that is offered for kids his age, a full assessment should be done before starting school and then again before high school as they cover so much more.
.
Paul was perfectly fine, while I need glasses. I learnt that I was short sighted to a degree but I also have a weak left eye that gives up when forced to concentrate on something too much. It was fascinating! The whole team at our local and independently owned practice were amazing and our assessments were thorough but most of all, our optometrist was brilliant with Harvey. Now, the fun begins.... which glasses!? I love the clear! But I’m going to go back on my own and not rush it.
.
If you are looking for a local, Aussie and independently owned optometrist, check out the link in my bio. 👓

Over the last couple of weeks, I have really become aware of just how precious my eyes are. Most of you would know I had an eye infection and I had to see a specialist. I was asked lots of questions about my eye health and as the appointment when on, I knew that my sight and eye health was certainly not at its best and I had not been looking after them.
.
I used to wear glasses back in high school but at the time, I thought they were daggy so I barely wore them and have not worn them since. 19 years ago! These days, there is so much choice and they are far more fashionable. Considering both my parents and sister wears them and my grandma has glaucoma, I felt a bit silly for not have made it a priority. Paul is just as bad! He couldn’t tell me when he had his checked last!
.
I also suffer from migraines and anyone that gets them will know bow debilitating they can be. It wipes out my whole day. I feel like I have been hit by a train. First my vision becomes flickery and then when it subsides, on comes the monster head ache. It has made me think that it could be my eyes contributing to them too?
.
So, I have got my act together and booked not just myself, but the whole family in at our local independent optometrist for an eye assessment tomorrow. I know that Harvey is at a perfect age for it and Chloe is coming too. After doing my research and a few phone calls, I decided on an independently, Aussie owned and operated optometrist because they have that real care factor. @provisionoptometry have been amazing so far so if you are looking to do an eye assessment for you and your family, I have a link in bio to find an optometrist near you.
.
I would love to hear your experiences on eye health. Do you suffer from migraines? What has helped you? And have you been to have an eye assessment recently?

Kindness is really something special. And it feels even better when you are the one delivering it, rather than receiving it.
.
In the last couple of weeks I have come across some really angry people, while just going about my day. And I won’t bore you with the scenarios but I was taken back at how mean people can be to each other.
.
Most days, I go out of my way to be kind to people. And although I have shit days, where I don’t feel the best in myself or things are happening in my life that are bringing me down, I never take that frustration out on someone else. Especially a stranger.
.
In fact, it is being kind to someone else that can be my own turning point. It can be what gives me a bounce back because there is nothing more satisfying to know that you have made even the slightest difference to someone’s day. By simply being kind.
.
Imagine if we all did an act of kindness, every single day. What a world we would live in 💓
