Is this world a utopia or dystopia? (Literary Response/Analysis Essay) on the book Delirium
A literary response is an argumentative examination of a literary work. The objective is not to write a book report where you summarize plot. When you write an analysis, you are approaching it as if the reader/audience is already familiar with the text. You are arguing an interpretation of that text. You are making connections and claims about what the greater meaning of that text is beneath the plot. Use a moment Think of this as looking at the book under a microscope. You are not looking at the whole of the book, but one part. Begin with one section of the text that stands out to you. Analyze You may interpret it differently than a peer, but you need to back up the inferences you make with direct quotes from the novel and follow-up statements about how that proves or reinforces the thesis. Be a minimum of 1000 words, but not over 1300 words. Use at least four sources (one must be Delirium). Have integrated, direct quotes. However, it also shouldnt be a rehashing of plot or a laundry list of quotes from the novel and/or from another source. It should have your voice as the author.
