Angina – Non-Pharmacological Interventions
Need reference on how this improves oxygen sats. If doesn’t improve O2 sats from current 93% consider O2 therapy(The vast majority of reference material I’ve found says O2 therapy shouldn’t be commenced on patients with chest pain unless O2 sats are under 93%) keeping in mind he was a smoker for 25 years who recently quit. Need to not risk suppression of hypoxic drive. (We don’t know what his normal O2 sats are) Discuss O2 flow rate and delivery device. 2nd: Reduce anxiety. Need reference/s that talk about how anxiety can increase heart rate therefore workload, increasing oxygen demand by the heart which would lead to further angina.
