to investigate a problem or issue to conduct a research method to propose further investigation why is this topic worthy of research?

Purpose: to investigate a problem or issue to conduct a research method to propose further investigation why is this topic worthy of research? Remember this is a Proposal. Do NOT include a solution in this paper. You are only validating that this is in fact a worthy problem to investigate. NO plagiarism. Paper will be checked. Do NOT use First person pronouns that refer to you or the reader in this paper. So no, I, you, we, our, yours, mine, etc. Process: Conduct research on your own. You must use UCF library resources and databases. You cannot use Wikipedia, or general websites found on the Internet. You can use some.org, .gov, or edu sites. But most of your sources MUST come for UCF library resources. You must also include scholarly journal articles or peer reviewed articles. Gather information from your research, assess and interpret the information you gather, and then use it in your paper as a way to support your claims that this is a real issue that needs a solution and needs to be investigated further! You are informing the reader while proposing that you be allowed to further research this topic. You must use between 4 to 8 sources credible secondary sources for this paper! (Wikipedia is NOT a credible source!) Write a compositionally formatted essay (1,000 to 1,500 words long-Do not go over!) in which you respond to the research you have collected. As you respond answer the following questions for your audience: What is the ecological or social or cultural problem you want to investigate further? (Define the problem and tell how it resembles other problems.) Why is this a problem that your reader should be concerned about? (Illustrate facets of the argument.) Why is this problem worthy of further investigation? (Why should you continue your investigation?) How did your research help a reader either understand this problem or legitimize and support that the problem exists or is getting worse? Remember that you are trying to get your reader (The instructor) to agree that this is a real problem that you need to research this issue more. Format: This is a formal composition essay which must include a cohesive, comprehensive thesis, topic sentences, transitional sentences and a cohesive conclusion. 4-5 pages in length MLA format (including Works Cited page) Include catchy, creative title In order to receive a passing grade you must also have ALL of the following elements: A separate title page, which includes an original title, your name, class time and my name. First paper is NOT an acceptable title. Each page numbered (top right hand corner) A works cited page-alphabetical order-do not underline Works Cited or Reference page at top of page. 1,000-1,500 word composition paper At least five quotes and/or paraphrases from at least 4 outside sources you have researched. Proper in-text citation for all outside sources. All quotes must be correctly cited within the paper. Quotes over three lines must be offset correctly- outside the paragraph. THE TOPIC: The topic I have chosen for this paper is the problem of income inequality. I have several scholarly articles from the library that I would like included, if possible. I have also answered the question in the Process (above mentioned category) here so that the paper comes out matching expectations. What is the ecological or social or cultural problem you want to investigate further? (Define the problem and tell how it resembles other problems.) Why is this a problem that your reader should be concerned about? (Illustrate facets of the argument.) – The problem I have chosen to investigate is income inequality. As the classic saying goes, The top 1% of Americans make twice as much as the bottom 90%. Should more be done to equalize income? This issue is so interesting as it delves into moral belief and defined who we are and what we think is right. Some say that the top 1% have a responsibility toward helping everyone else, while others think that the top are already contributing and that equalizing income would be disastrous.
