II. Film Analysis (6-8 pages) This assignment is an opportunity for the student to demonstrate their critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, as well as knowledge gained about an international or national health care systems through analysis of the documentary film, Sicko by Michael Moore. To verify objectivity of film portrayal, students must select the United States health care system or another countrys health care system mentioned in this film and conduct a more recent research of the selected countrys health care system to find out whether what was described in the film is still prevalent for that countrys system or changes have occurred, the major strengths and weaknesses of the system (e.g., the extent to which the goals of access to care, quality of care, and cost of care have been achieved), as well as the major lessons that could be learned about that countrys health care system.
