Analyze the assigned case as follows. This case report will consist of using the problem-solving model discussed in the early-in-course creativity module to develop a recommendation. Actually, about 30% of the course will be about managerial decision-making. The report will reflect consideration of the following sections of the creative problem solving model: 1. Identify Problem or Opportunity – not symptom 2. Gather Information then analysis 3. Develop Criteria/Standards for Choice 4. Find Alternatives 5. Analysis of Alternatives 6. Choose what is your feasible recommendation and why (needs to be consistent with 3, 4, 5) The following sections are not required: 7. Implement (but remember, the recommendation must be feasible for its implementation) 8. Evaluate and Revise. The grading structure for each case analysis is: One or two paragraphs for the synopsis (whats important) Critical factors of success (nmt 6 in any situation) Define the major problems/opportunities and analyze them Alternatives: examination, criteria, and analysis Recommendation with implementation with support Relevant comments on the discussion board No mom and apple pie and American Flag in your recommendations must fit problem solving process and be feasible. Also, do not take the position that the firm is doing quite well and needs to continue with what they are doing. We are always looking to expand the business, increase profits, reduce costs, increase productivity, etc. What specific recommendations with what resources can you develop in your recommendation your job could and your grade does depend on your response. Writing and format (see rubric) Comments, Questions and Responses The report is to be not more than two pages, word-processed in Word format, single-spaced, using 10 – 12 point type and one-inch margins. A good example of a case report is in Bb/Course Documents. The case report is to be uploaded through Safe Assign under Assignments in Blackboard by the due date. Safe Assign will be available for uploading your case report in Word or rich text file (rtf) format 24 hours prior to the due date. Please take into account that you are dealing with the case as is do not do additional research into the case as to factors in 2018. Deal with the case as is in the text.
