Students will choose one of the topics and a specific objective from Healthy People 2020 and develop a 5-6 page paper.

The paper will describe the selected Healthy People 2020 topic and the specific objective
(including target/goal, the progress that has been made since Healthy People 2010, if applicable).

The paper should address:
Health implications
Current interventions/activities,
How to address health promotion behaviors

It is important to address the significance of this topic to nursing; explain nursing’s role/potential role.

APA format is required.

Students must use at least five (5) peer-reviewed journal references, at least 2 must be from a nursing journal, and all references must be from the past five years
(you may use the Healthy People 2020 website, however, you need to identify and utilize the additional nursing peer-reviewed journal references).

Students should review the grading rubric outlining the required format and grading criteria.
