However her conditions worsened and she was unable to eat for 4 days because of sever pain and tightness of the jaw. After 4 days on antibiotics she was admitted to a hospital with sever facial spasms. After questioning she revealed that 3 days prior to seeking treatment (7 days prior to hospitalization) she got a splinter in her foot. She removed most of the splinted and cleaned the wound but did not seek medical attention for the wound. What caused her symptoms? Was her condition mostly due to an infection or an intoxication?
