You will use your research for Part 2 of the Unit 6 Assignment. Part 2: Written Assignment Using the data you found on the U.S. Census Bureau website, analyze your local community, and develop a standard operating guideline for a real risk that currently exists within your community. This standard operating guideline should summarize your community, identify the risk, current recognition, interpretation of the risk, communication of the risk to the community and organization, and mobilization of the community response system to reduce and respond to the risk. Your Standard Operating Guideline should consist of at least 34 pages (not including title and reference page) and include the following information. Summary of your communitys demographics and emergency service capabilities. A description and explanation of your communitys most prevalent man-made or natural hazard potential. Include an explanation of why it is considered a high risk. Describe how your community currently mitigates the hazard and communicates before and during a disaster to the community and stakeholders. Finally, through research or interviews, discuss how your community currently is prepared to respond to the disaster and any additional resources necessary to handle the risk within your community.
