Fall Prevention Pragram
This paper is for a Gerontology Nursing Class. This is a Fall Prevention Program that will be presented to the Administration at ABC Skilled Nursing Facility in Florida, USA. 1. Note that falls are frequent in skilled nursing facilities. Therefore the paper must start with a brief and clear introduction consisting of numerical data regarding this issue .(Data may include patients diagnosis such as confusion, dementia etc, cost to organization, estimated # of falls as well as other relevant data) 2. The writer will review 3 peer reviewed journals on the subject and come upon 5 evidenced based interventions to address the issues.( These can be alarms, toileting, frequent rounding etc) 3. Note that the above interventions may not be enough for the elderly confused or dementia clients. Therefore for those clients I will propose a program called ” Sitters for Safety”. This program will provide someone to provide frequent supervision in order to reduce the number of falls, which will cost the organization less than dealing with results of post falls. 4. You will provide realistic cost of this program, training needed, and state the benefit and goals to the administration. You should also state how you plan to present your proposal to the administration. Remember this is a proposal. Be creative as you would want the administration to accept this. You do not have to use one sitter per clients. You could have groups especially in the day time to reduce cost.
