Please analyze and critique a nursing model (theory/conceptual framework).
Please write about the model, framework, philosophy, and mid-range theory of nursing theorist Virginia Henderson. Conduct a literature search to obtain material related to the theorist, the model and theory; her theory is “Need Theory”. The search should include research conducted in the theory and nursing model, with clinical examples. Prepare a packet of materials.
The packet should include a Power Point presentation of 12 slides related to the theorist, her theory and a summary (1 page papers) of each of three relevant articles on or about the theory, separate from the PowerPoint. Articles should include a primary (written by the theorist), secondary (written about the theory), and research (research article) source. Include handouts, the articles, article critiques, diagrams, charts, etc., which will facilitate understanding of the theory.
The Power Point presentation should include a brief overview of the theorist’s background, discussion of the theorist’s definitions of the four basic metaparadigms, the theory’s basic assertions or propositions, and an analysis and a critique of the model with a focus on the theory’s implications for nursing practice, nursing education, and nursing research.
Grading of the presentation of the theory/conceptual model will be based on the following scale:
• Demonstrated understanding of the theory 20 points
• Organization and clarity of the presentation 25 points
• Comprehensiveness of the presentation 25 points
• Compilation of packet of posted materials (PPT, articles & critiques

Below is a brief introduction of the Nursing Theorist and her Theory. You must conduct research to facilitate understanding of her, her theory, her nursing model, the 4 basic metaparadigms concepts in nursing and everything else mentioned above.

Virginia Henderson: Often called “the Nightingale of Modern Nursing,” Henderson was a noted nursing educator and author. Her “Need Theory” was based in practice and her education. She emphasized the importance of increasing a client’s independence to promote their continued healing progress after hospitalization. Her definition of nursing was one of the first to mark the difference between nursing and medicine. “The unique function of the nurse is to assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that he would perform unaided if he had the necessary strength, will, or knowledge. And to do this in such a way as to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible. She must in a sense, get inside the skin of each of her patients in order to know what he needs.”

The PowerPoint Presentation must be excellent / dynamic. It must be clear, concise and relevant. It should be stylish, attractive and include relative images / pictures. The entire project must follow APA formatting and meet all requires mentioned above.
