Assignments Field Journal: Throughout the course, you will be creating a field journal of our site visits. For each site visit, create a 500-word journal entry that addresses the definitions and dynamics of culture and capital observed on site or presented by guest lecturers. Some questions you may consider: Is this site principally organized around production, consumption, or both? Is there a tension or contradiction between production and consumption? How would you identify and describe the cultural objects or experiences produced/consumed at this site? Who are the social actors who produce/consume these cultural objects? Can you identify the sources of capital and how they relate to the actors and objects you have identified? Are there sources of capital that are obscured or concealed? There is no required format: You are welcome and encouraged to be creative with how you choose to create your field journals. These can be produced on paper or digitally, using any content producing platform of your choosing, so long as the final product can be shared with your instructor.
