Cultural anthropology is the study of patterns of human behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Eugenics existed because of the way people viewed other people, especially people of color. According to the video, Sterilization Victims of Eugenics Program, people in North Carolina thought that they were helping society become a better place when they sterilized promiscuous or poor black women during the 1970s. These thoughts existed in other states as well because over 60,000 women were sterilized. In later years, in the video Eugenics: Alive and Well in the USA 2014, one doctor felt that he would save welfare money by forcing sterilization on women inmates. All of these patterns of human behavior would be of great interest to anthropologists. 2.The Eugenics program of North Carolina would be of interest to anthropologist because basically this law in ways acts as an racial discriminate. Eugenics basically means to have or to make good genes.This eugenic program was created to limit welfare, reduce poverty , and to make improvements on gene pool. The Eugenics program also had both men and women sterilized either by choice ,force, or coercion. This would tie interest to anthropologist because of course it’s the study of humans but in this time and place it more about the birth rights being deprived from parents because eugenics says they are unfit Humans. How does such traits like physically disabled, developmental /mentally disabled, poor, homosexuality, criminally inclined, and certain racial groups etc. make and baby embryo who might have inherited a trait any less human then others
