Describe the point at which primary care may not be enough and a patient in your clinical specialty would require hospitalization
This course is designed to prepare Advanced Practice Nurses for prescriptive rights whether they are nurse practitioners or clinical nurse specialists. Primary Care is the term given to the type of office/clinic centered healthcare that nurse practitioners are educated to provide. Clinical Nurse Specialists who usually practice in a hospital setting also should be familiar with primary healthcare. As our independent case studies must be developed from a primary care point of view this week we will discuss the difference between primary care and hospital care. In a 200 word essay describe the goals of primary care as we are defining it here. Compare these to the goals of care currently provided in your clinical specialty. Describe the point at which primary care may not be enough and a patient in your clinical specialty would require hospitalization. Be sure to review the participation guidelines for the discussions in your syllabus.
