You have just taken on a new pastorate. Over the first few weeks, you have determined that the church is unhealthy. Some of the characteristics that you have noticed are apathy among those who attend, absence of good leadership, a lack of evangelistic outreach, along with a myriad of other issues that typically plague unhealthy churches. Imagine you were the new pastor in the church described above and explain how you would lead this church to a path of health. Do not focus on what makes a church unhealthy, but rather, articulate how you would pursue church health, given the scenario. In the context of your faith tradition, write a 1,500-2,000 word paper in which you address this church. Use the following questions to guide your paper: As the new pastor, how would you articulate your theological vision for the church’s renewal? What are attributes of healthy local churches? How would you prioritize the healthy church attributes? What is the most important? How do you make your theological vision practical in the context of this church? Analyze how the health of the church is dependent on the connection between Christian doctrine and the ministries of this church.
