Infection associated with duration of peripheral intravenous catheter.
Instruction Goals: while the intervention will not actually be carried out, the student will discuss the plan that could be implemented by a nurse to address the clinical issue. One short term and one long term goal of the intervention will be identified. The student will include a description of how attainment of each of the goals would be measured. Participant and Interdisciplinary Approach: Student will identify all the parties whose participation is important for the success of implementing the plan. i. This least will include the minimum of two members of discipline outside of nursing ii. A description of the benefit of including each member from another discipline to the success of the plan. iii. A minimum of one scholarly per review source providing support for the success of the plan by including the healthcare team member outside of nursing. (patient population is 18 and up) Grading Rubric Goals: – Develop a minimum of one short term goal – Develop minimum of one long term goal – Include the way in which attainment of each of the goals is to be measured. NB: the duration of the peripheral intravenous catheter we are working with is between 72 to 96 hours. The patient population is 18 years and above. Please the scholarly sources should be less than five years, and one of it must be peer reviewed.
