At the end of the fall, when she was completing her seventh month of pregnancy, she went into premature labor and was rushed in an ambulance to the emergency room of the hospital in the nearby city. She gave birth to a premature baby. While she was in recovery, doctors determined that Clara’s baby was not only premature, but also appeared to be having other “developmental abnormalities.” When asked whether she had received any prenatal care, Clara replied, “No, I couldn’t afford it; besides, I didn’t know where to go to get help.” Initial Post Part 1: You are the Director of Population Health Department of this facility. The Chief Population Health Officer has scheduled a meeting with you to discuss a lack of resources in the nearby town and high teenage pregnancy and birth rates in its community.
