Who Killed Change? A Summary
Societies around the world have diverse ideas about change and transition. These two concepts may apply to governments, businesses, social events, sports, electronic devices, vehicles, scientific researches, arts, and educational systems. However, when it comes to people the whole idea takes a different direction. Generally speaking, people are afraid of change constantly, because the pain of a new idea may represent a threat to their integrity and customs.
In this extraordinary book titled Who Killed Change? the authors discuss ways in which change is so challenging and cannot be carried out without assistance from each individual in an organization. The authors use key components that are a crucial part of change, and make them into characters. These different characters include; Culture, Commitment, Sponsorship, Change Leadership Team, Communication, Urgency, Vision, Plan, Budget, Trainer, Incentive, Performance Management and Accountability (Blanchard, Britt, Hoekstra & Zigarmi, 2009).
When Change has been found dead a very serious detective named McNally is called in to investigate the case. McNally arranges to meet with each of the employees who are lacking what is needed to carry out change in the ACME organization. Finally, each employee had a part in changes death because they refused to collaborate and work as a team. Change was never accomplished. (Blanchard, Britt, Hoekstra & Zigarmi, 2009).
Differences in peoples lives between their past and present demonstrate that they do not simply change, but also improve themselves from the inside out. Unlike the well known novel character Peter Pan, a misbehaving kid who refuses to grow up, I personally find interesting and necessary that a human being may evolve and become a better person in society. In fact, transitions are necessary for human beings in order to grow up physically and mentally. The happiest and most successful people are those who do not fear changes through life at all.
