In the excerpt above, something about Derry, Maine was evil, personified to some extent by Pennywise the Clown. In the short stories and films for this week, the narrators suggest that these places may very well embody a haunting, even evil as well: the Captain Browns house, the Usher family house, Hill House, the Overlook, even, perhaps, Victorian London. Based on your reading of the stories and the film you chose to view, what is the source (or sources) of evil for some of these places?
