Suggested structure As noted before, the detailed structure of your paper is decided by you, but we recommend you follow roughly this general organisation of your paper: • An Introduction (about 200 words) to outline the purpose, focus and plan of your text. In this part, you also should indicate the key theories you will draw on and the case study you have chosen, and possibly explain why this case is relevant to foster a better understanding of public service reform. • A brief outline of your selected public service (about 300 words), to summarise which organisations deliver the service, how these are funded and regulated, what are the main objectives of the service. In this context, you ought to explain why the service is regarded as public instead of being left to private markets. • A literature review (about 900 words) on the most essential drivers of public service reform. The aim of this part is to present your own narrative of why the organisation and provision of public services has changed in the last decades. You therefore should not attempt to summarise all kinds of explanations comprehensively but to weigh up in a balanced way alternative arguments in order to identify those explanations you find the most convincing.
