Each student will plan a group work project in Mental health (Bipolar ). You should research theories of group work practice and develop a detailed group work plan that is structured to address the issues or needs of your target group within the chosen field of practice:

1. Introduce your group work project by explaining how this project will meet the needs of service users in this practice field and how it will help address some of the associated social issues for the service users. 2. Describe the practice issue the group will be designed to address. What type of group is most appropriate for these service users? What is your target group – how will you invite these individuals to participate in the group? How will you determine the group aims? What form of group facilitation is most appropriate? What issues might arise and how will you address them? Other considerations include composition, size, meeting frequency, venue and communication.

3. Reference your group work plan to the group work theory underpinning group work in this field of practice and discuss which theories have informed your decision making and your chosen group work approach (minimum 3 references). Follow the below-marking criteria for the assessment, it is very important please: 1) Relevance of the answer to the topic 2) Integration of group work theory and the literature 3) Coherency and completeness of the group work plan 4) The extent of research/analysis 5) structure and development of the argument 6) clarity of expression 7) correct grammar, punctuation and spelling 8) Referencing using the APA (6TH Edition) convention
