Focus particularly on the Annotated Outline that defines the protocols for the four parts of the Premise: title, problem statement, approach for the study, and references, as well as the Sample Premise. With consideration to the Instructor and peer feedback you have received and following the guidance found in the Dissertation Premise Guide, develop your Premise. Please review feedback below and consider when preparing this paper: You’ve clearly done some literature review on this subject looking for the gap in the research that you might address. As you continue your thought process remember to stay focused on the health services aspect, which is the provision of mental health services, rather than on the clinical/public health aspect of the violence that is occurring and the issues that accompany it. Though these issues are important, as a health services student you are focused on how you can provide services to support the mental health of those who are impacted by this violence. These services are typically not enough and as you noted, there is clearly a need for additional research to see how this lack of resources can be addressed. As you develop your problem statement and keep your focus on access to, and use of, mental health services by urban youth who have experience violence, remember that you need to find research specific to this topic that supports that this topic is significant to the discipline of health services (justified) and that there is a gap in the research that you will address (meaningful). Your focus seems to be on the violence they experience and the need for mental health services, rather than on the research regarding the access to and use of those services.
