She has racing thoughts at night and difficulty sleeping, even if her husband and infant and other children are sleeping. She indicates her emotions are up and down, with feelings of anxiety and sadness and she does not feel like her normal self. She feels she has withdrawn and isolated herself from family and friends, not returning phone calls and seldom leaves the house. She has been distancing herself from her husband and frequently feels anger towards him; but mostly he is a constant source of irritation and frustration. Breastfeeding has been going well despite the fact that she knows she is supposed to return to work in two weeks and worries how she will manage. What are your nursing interventions; how will you address and assist Sheila after what she has shared with you? Support your responses with scholarly literature from the readings or elsewhere.
