Review of the Literature-Summarize each study by identifying the research elements (Authors, Year, LOE, design, purpose, study variables, sampling, measurement, main results, and conclusions); determine the study strengths and weaknesses (p. 439); and evaluate the credibility, trustworthiness, and meaning of the study for its applicability to your PICOT (p. 443). A minimum of 10 peer reviewed articles is required. See Table 7-5 Characteristics of High-Quality Literature Reviews, p. 136, to understand criteria for grading of literature review. ? Synthesis-See What is Synthesis? Link the 10 studies together to show how they support your practice change. ? Recommendation for change in Practice-Make a recommendation for implementation of the practice change in your area of practice. ? Synthesis Table (as appendix A) Appendices (Ordered A, B, etc. and are listed in the order in which they appear in the paper), Examples include, but not limited to Selected References and synthesis table. Recommended column headings in synthesis table include Author + Year, Purpose, Sample, Measurement, Results, and Findings. References can not be more than 5 years old.
