The end of semester evaluation of the BSN program outcomes will be comprehensively analyzed in a synthesis paper. The paper should be no more than 5 pages and will include the elements below. The student will identify the element below, identify in which course the element was achieved, and provide a brief reflection addressing how the outcome was reached. The documented analysis will be retained in the student’s permanent file as evidence of fulfillment of the program outcomes and cognition of the Department’s Nursing philosophy. Please refer to the Nursing Student Handbook for a description of the Nursing Department’s philosophy and program outcomes. The Department of Nursing at Presentation College, presented in the Catholic tradition, is part of a supportive, accepting, and caring community. All graduates of the Department of Nursing will be provided a foundation for baccalaureate study of nursing, become a professional member of society, and be prepared as a licensed nurse. Graduates of Presentation College Department of Nursing baccalaureate program are expected to function as contributing members of society through acquisition of the skills and knowledge gained in general education and nursing courses. The nursing student program outcomes are based on the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (AACN, 2008) and the College core values.
