WHAT ARE PATIENT EXPERIENCE FOLLOWING CARDIAC SURGERY AND THE NURSING CARE IN THE POST OPERATIVE PERIOD

Cardiothoracic surgical ward. I chose the topic on patient experiences following cardiac surgery and nursing care in the post operative period. This is because, we have newly qualified and induction nurses working in the unit who is lacks knowledge on this area and misunderstand patients postoperative experiences and takes unnecessary actions. Hence this information will be helpful for the new nurses or student nurse. I had a meeting with my tutor. She adviced me to put justificaion for choosing this topic. She told to take quantitative or qualitative research design, IPA ( Inerpretative phenominological analysis, data collection by interviewing 6 participants for 45- 60 mins in the follow up clinic. She told to mention about saturation points, data analysis to be thematic, message can be shared to participants using display poster, she also mentioned to include R+D Rec approval. The purpose of this research is to consider 1. what a patient experience after cardiac surgery . What is the experience of receiving nursing care in the post operative period? The literature used should be critically appraised using CASP and SURE I just given an outline.
