Write a brief critique – about 3 pages, double spaced– on one of the two articles attached below (both on political advertising). You may choose whichever article you prefer to write about. The critique should provide an analytical response to the article. It should address the following questions: What are the author’s central claims in this piece of writing? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the article? How does the author’s work relate to other course readings? What is your personal analytic reaction to the ideas expressed by this author? Please stay close to the word limit, as part of the exercise is also to hone a skill in presenting arguments or point of view in as concise a manner as possible. There is no specific number of sources required as it is an article critique. If you wish to use outside sources, please feel free to do so.
