What is needed to develop a group of individuals into a team?
1. Healthcare Teams or are they Groups? In healthcare, teams include persons of doctors, nurses, technicians, even volunteers with the patient at the focus of all involved. In this class, the instructor has heard of well-functioning teams and those that were less than well-functioning. In looking at our course content involving groups and teams but also topics of perceptions, values, communication, and leadership. Your task here is to write a plan to develop a team of nurses. What is needed to develop a group of individuals into a team? How do you add new team members as there is change and turnover? What are the principles behind your plan? Locate healthcare examples of best practices in this effort. Also, identify what are ways to evaluate that the team is functioning successfully and examples of warning signs that problems are occurring.
