I currently work in the emergency room continually being moved from a forensic psych area to CPEP and even Medical Emergency (AES), which is stressful and sometimes causes burnout. An issue I have seen is the ability of a nurse to find tranquility after experiencing traumatic circumstances. Programs like Helping Healers Heal have good intentions, but the fact is that the program is initiated after an event takes place, which seems like a tertiary approach to dealing with emotional disturbances.Understanding the need for better staffing and patient nurse ratio is calculated based on acuity and staff abilities, but this seems to be an issue throughout hospitals (Clarke, n.d.). The hiring of more nurses will inevitably eradicate most of the problems due to the stress level, but there will always be events that some healthcare workers are just not prepared for, which should be addressed.Answers the problem start with the detection of the problem. When stress is a suspected problem in rehabilitation nursing environments as evidenced by low morale, health complaints among employees, and job turnover, they may first take steps to identify the various contributors to the problem (Roberts & Grubb, 2014). Having supervisors and leadership understand the importance of distressing situations means all involved parties accept implementation.
