Depending on your answer being yes (or no), explain how they (do not) matter and how the US political system facilitates (or limits) ethnic influences on foreign policy. Use examples of specific racial/ethnic groups if you can. 2) Why do racial/ethnic groups want to influence US foreign policy? What determines how much influence a particular ethnic group has on policy? What are implications for US national interest if many Americans have dual loyalties [note that the answer may depend on how to define and who is authorized to define national interest]? Explain your answer, using examples of specific racial/ethnic groups if you can. 3) Compare and contrast pluralist vs. elitist theories about US politics and their different implications for US foreign policy? Apply these two theories to analyze how the media may or may not influence foreign policy. 4) Why does (international) terrorism seem so prevalent today? Why do our enemies (rogue states, Islamists) hate and fear us? Should they hate and fear us (are their fear and hatred justified)? Explain your answer, using specific examples of terrorist groups and US policies if you can.
