For this assignment, you will write a paper on three health laws that affect a specific population. Select a specific population and three health laws that affect that population. You can choose any population that interests you, and you can choose to focus on federal and/or state laws. Examples of populations might include teenagers, pregnant women, seniors, rural residents, incarcerated adults, adults with substance-abuse disorders, minor victims of human trafficking, and people impacted by natural disasters. Note that you are not limited to these example populations. Describe the laws, the pros and cons of each, their effect(s) on the population, and the relevant ethical issues to consider. For example, you might focus on teenagers as a population and might include reproductive laws such as access to contraceptives, confidentiality, and abortion laws for minors; you might then explain how the laws affect the population in terms of pregnancy prevention, abortion rates, or access to care. This Population-Specific Health Laws Paper is due in Module 12 and should be five to six pages in length, double-spaced. It should have an introduction, the main points explained in the body of the paper, and a summary. All papers must be in APA format and include a title and references pages. The title and reference pages are not included in the page count. Make sure all references are from reliable sources, such as government documents, peer-reviewed journals, and academic websites.
