Write a research paper regarding: conflict surrounding Global Warming Controversy in the U.S. This paper will require that you to conduct in-depth research on a topic related to conflict that will allow you to make a recommendation on the outcome. The intent of the research paper is to apply the course material (see below text books, I do not have these text books electronically so please do best you can to find reference that writers might have posted on line or other resources, I will upload some of the weekly power points from the class that might help with some of the technical terms that should be mentioned in the paper) to a real world situation, explore realistic options, analyze what happened and determine how to create an outcome for the identified conflict. You should first summarize the situation and identify – as appropriate – any major positions, issues and interests. Next, you must conduct a detailed analysis of the topic and provide the results of your analysis. Most importantly, in this paper you must provide a detailed recommendation on how you would develop a win.win outcome. A solid recommendations section will include the accurate use of technical terms that we have been reviewing in this course and highlight opportunities each side has to improve the outcome, by applying lessons learned from the textbooks (s), research presented in class [by fellow classmates] and/or from the power point Lectures (internet is really slow so will upload on Friday). More emphasis should be placed on the process for preparing, structuring and handling the conflict, than on the final outcome. You are encouraged to compare and contrast different approaches and carefully think through the different options available. The length of the final paper should be 5-8 pages – double spaced.
