You’re been the HR manager for your company for the past 6 months, and you’ve just discovered one of your facilities has been approached by a union who wants to represent them. A few facts you need to know: 1) Your company feels the presence of a union will add significant cost to their system. 2) The state the vote may be taking place in is a “right to work state” 3) There is a worker at your company who is the primary person working with the union, and while passionate on the topic this person seems like someone you could talk to. You decide to fly out and meet with this person from your company and listen to them. Please provide words on what you’d want your discussion to cover, and suggested alternatives to unionization you’d recommend to this person.
